What does liberty look like?

What does liberty look like?

Pondering this, I realize I can only take an educated guess because I have not lived in true liberty and I dare say, neither have most of you, if not all of you who happen to visit this blog.

I can tell you a bit of what liberty is not...

It is not having to ask the .gov for a license to do anything.

It is not renting any and all land from the government, or another way of putting that is not having a property tax. If you were truly a free man, you could own your property outright.

It is not having to file for permission to improve your property and pay some government entity to come and inspect your property. You know why they do that don't you? They know they are the one who actually own the property and they are protecting their interests.

It is not working for half the year for the government; by the time you take what you made in a year and figure the taxes you had to pay, well, you basically are a slave who gets to keep a portion of your wages. Hey, they don't want you to know you are their slave, so they let you think you are working for yourself, letting you keep a little
discretionary income.

It is not having to prove who you are to the authorities when you have done nothing wrong.

It is not being fingerprinted in order to enter Disney World.

It is not having your every move recorded, having the library books you borrow being recorded, your purchases at the local mart, and then having these lists of what you do/have done reported to the .gov at their will.

It is not having your medical record available to everyone the “authorities” deem permissible and not being able to have a say in the matter. It is not having your record kept “online” without your permission. At present, health professionals can record their judgment of you and about you, and you do not have any true recourse. (Unless you can prove they made a mistake, which not an easy task.)

It is not being afraid to speak out against the authorities or political leaders it in your nation.

It is not being restricted to who, how, when and where you can carry a firearm.

It is not having so many laws on the books that it is impossible to know when you are breaking the law. And it follows that it is not being jailed for not filing the right paperwork!

It is not having to ask permission to open a business and run it the way you want. (As long as you are willing to take responsibility for your actions.)

It is not having to pay the .gov every time you exchange goods or services with someone.

Now, I know there are many more things, so I encourage you to add to this list in your comments. I bet there are some really good ones I haven't even thought of yet. You know, the things that make you go, Aha! I did not think of that!

Let's all make an effort to see things in a new light, and share those insights with each other. That is what make the sheeple into people after all, having the light of reason shine into the stupor and reveal the truth. It's what keeps us in this fight. Let's call things as they really are and not the politically correct way. May common sense become common again!

Keep your powder dry,
HUP

Amen! Oh, that we knew what freedom was. It is sad that folks in a 'free' country have to dream about it, and can't live it. (Imagine how much worse the 'unfree' countries have it!)

Yes, they may have it worse physically, but we have it worse pychologically...
If I had the time I think I would like to write a short story on people that live in a truly free society so that we could get an understanding of how different it would be...

Yes, do that! What a wakeup call that would be to the sheeple!
