Words as a creative force; taming the tongue and speaking in love, a Sunday reflection

We, each of us, have a voice in this world, within our sphere of influence. We can use that voice to encourage or deflate, to share what we know or to keep our knowledge to our self, to pursue liberty or to join those whose goal it is to enslave. The choice is ours. But if we choose to bring light and liberty, we need God's help. We need His principles to guide us. We need to speak the truth, but we must speak it respectfully, always honoring the other person's right to disagree. As long as they do not infringe upon our free will and our God-granted right, they must be allowed the same liberty we seek.

Words have tremendous power, and as you have probably heard, “the pen is mightier than the sword.” Words are tools of persuasion. If you can use your words to change minds and hearts, you can change the world. And as preppers, we are trying to persuade men to see the light of liberty and join us in the battle to once again make this the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I was thinking about what God has to say about our our words. It is quite amazing to think that the entire universe was created by the Words that God spoke. He said “Let there be” and there was! Then He created us “in His Image” and gave us the ability to speak also.

The scriptures tell us that God's Word is a living sword in Ephesians 6:17 and Hebrews 3:12. And it is a sword that is sharper than a two-edged one, able to divide our soul from our spirit. When I think of a two-edged sword, I think of the fact that it will get you coming and going, forward and back, there is no escaping it's truth. What power!

We speak with our tongue and the tongue is addressed quite a bit in the scriptures also. James 3:5-12 tells us that the tongue is a little member, but is a fire and just a little spark can start a huge inferno, i.e. just a small indiscretion can cause loads of damage. The tongue can defile the whole body; it cannot be tamed. God goes on to tell us that the tongue is full of deadly poison. We use it to bless God and then to curse men, which are made in His Image. He tells that this should not be, as sweet water and bitter should not come from the same fount. So what am I to do? Again I look to the Word of God for wisdom. In Luke 6:45 I read that the words that we speak come from the abundance of our heart. Abundance speaks of what we have lots of...of what will overflow out of us. So I see that my tongue and the words that I speak come from my heart. But then I read in Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart is deceitful above all and wicked! That man's heart is evil from his youth, Genesis 9:21. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere! Now how do I tame this evil member? How do I keep from discouraging my kids with my sharp words, from spewing my frustrations about upon everyone around me and causing grief as I travel through this world? From alienating those that I want to bring to the knowledge of the truth, be it their eternal soul or the rights of the individual to self-determination?

I find myself searching the Word again for some light on what I am to do... Ezekiel 36:26 tells me that God can give me a new heart and a new spirit. Hope at last! When I read spirit, I think of attitude. So many times I recognize the fact that I need an attitude adjustment. How quickly I can get caught up in worldly pursuits that have no redeeming qualities. And to me, heart speaks of my will. The thing that makes me, well, me. So God is able, and by His grace, will do for me that which I cannot. He will take this evil, unbelieving heart, and turn it to Him. He will take this ungodly attitude and in its place put a new one, I believe one that is a part of Himself. And then He will work with me, as I seek Him, for He will never cross my free will or force me, to continue this change in me. Receiving this new heart and new spirit happens in a moment, the moment that I believed and received the truth, but it is also a process that I walk out, day by day, as I grow in grace and learn of Him and His ways. He is teaching me to guard and keep my heart above all things that I guard, for out of my heart come the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23) Life! And it is His will that I have not only life, but abundant life! (John 10:10)
So I am learning that as I guard this new heart and attitude, I will be filled with truth and love, and as I grow in the fruit of the Spirit, I will speak out of the abundance of my heart to the edification of all who listen. (Ephesians 4:29) And if what comes out of my mouth is not sweet, then I need to look within and see where I am missing the Truth, where I need more revelation. Where I need His help and guidance. If I am getting frustrated in my pursuit to persuade a person, perhaps I am neglecting to respect them and it shows.

I like the saying that goes, “they will not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” Respect must come first. All are created in God's image and as such are worthy of respect, of the acknowledgment of their human dignity. And the other saying I think of quite often is “people may not remember everything you say, but they will remember how you made them feel.” And last, but not least, “because nice matters.” I do not know who was the one(s) to start those sayings. But they resonate with me.

I feel/hope that I have changed over the years, that as I have become older, I have become wiser and that I treat people with more respect than I did when I was young. I cringe now when I think of the way I treated people in my youth. Still, I can be quite short with people, especially when I am under stress, to use a tone of voice that is not one that I would want used with me. I did not know how I sounded, and I did not, at least consciously, purpose to say things in a demeaning way. It took hearing myself on a phone message that I had sent, and then at another time having a person that I worked closely with tell me that my tone of voice was an issue, that opened my eyes to how I sounded. But awareness is the beginning of change. And soul searching is the beginning of more change.

So in using our words to persuade, we not only have to be aware of the power of the words themselves, we must be aware of the tone with which they are spoken. And to that end, the attitude we take as we speak them.

I try to remember that at one time, I did not believe all that I believe today, that the first time I heard some of what I believe as truth now, well, it felt like it was down-right unbelievable, the ravings of some lunatics. And it is with that memory in mind that I approach others who do not understand that many of those people who say they are here to help us, really are here to keep us slaves. I seek to respect the sleeple as I try to help them awaken to the truth and prepare for the coming hard times.

Man or Borg?

You came into this world, alone, an individual. There could have been thousands of others born the same day, but your experience was yours alone. You will leave this world alone, an individual, even though you may have died at the exact same moment as thousands of others. And you will stand before God alone, an individual, even though every single soul that was ever created will also stand before Him.

These United States were founded on the self-evident truth that God gives rights to the individual, but today it is not politically correct to espouse this truth. For we live in a time when those who wish to rule the world (the goons and those who serve them knowingly and unknowingly) have made great progress through educating and training the populace at large to think that it is the “collective” that matters, and that serving the collective is the true and noble path. We have been and are being deceived.

Think of the “Borg” in the popular tv series. Do you really want to be part of the the collective? Or do you want to be a man? (For those still bound by politically correctness, I also mean woman in this term.) Do you want the freedom to live your own life? Or do you want to live for the collective? Do you want your blood, sweat and tears to benefit you and those you choose, or do you want to hand your life over to the collective, to distribute your life – your efforts – your tax dollar, over to the goons and to those they deem worthy?

We preppers are made up of vastly different individuals who have certain things in common. One of which is the love of liberty, and as liberty-lovers, we recognize the inherit right to self-determination. So we prepare, because we know that those who embrace freedom, must also embrace responsibility.

We have lost our freedom here in the land that was once a bastion of liberty, sought out by all the peoples of the world. And the sad part is, most of us have not awakened to this simple fact. So preppers not only prepare, we sound the alarm, and God willing, the last little vestige of hope that we have of turning the dial back will not be snuffed out, but will grow into a full-fledged and peaceful revolution resulting in the restoration of liberty and justice for all.

What does liberty look like?

What does liberty look like?

Pondering this, I realize I can only take an educated guess because I have not lived in true liberty and I dare say, neither have most of you, if not all of you who happen to visit this blog.

I can tell you a bit of what liberty is not...

It is not having to ask the .gov for a license to do anything.

It is not renting any and all land from the government, or another way of putting that is not having a property tax. If you were truly a free man, you could own your property outright.

It is not having to file for permission to improve your property and pay some government entity to come and inspect your property. You know why they do that don't you? They know they are the one who actually own the property and they are protecting their interests.

It is not working for half the year for the government; by the time you take what you made in a year and figure the taxes you had to pay, well, you basically are a slave who gets to keep a portion of your wages. Hey, they don't want you to know you are their slave, so they let you think you are working for yourself, letting you keep a little
discretionary income.

It is not having to prove who you are to the authorities when you have done nothing wrong.

It is not being fingerprinted in order to enter Disney World.

It is not having your every move recorded, having the library books you borrow being recorded, your purchases at the local mart, and then having these lists of what you do/have done reported to the .gov at their will.

It is not having your medical record available to everyone the “authorities” deem permissible and not being able to have a say in the matter. It is not having your record kept “online” without your permission. At present, health professionals can record their judgment of you and about you, and you do not have any true recourse. (Unless you can prove they made a mistake, which not an easy task.)

It is not being afraid to speak out against the authorities or political leaders it in your nation.

It is not being restricted to who, how, when and where you can carry a firearm.

It is not having so many laws on the books that it is impossible to know when you are breaking the law. And it follows that it is not being jailed for not filing the right paperwork!

It is not having to ask permission to open a business and run it the way you want. (As long as you are willing to take responsibility for your actions.)

It is not having to pay the .gov every time you exchange goods or services with someone.

Now, I know there are many more things, so I encourage you to add to this list in your comments. I bet there are some really good ones I haven't even thought of yet. You know, the things that make you go, Aha! I did not think of that!

Let's all make an effort to see things in a new light, and share those insights with each other. That is what make the sheeple into people after all, having the light of reason shine into the stupor and reveal the truth. It's what keeps us in this fight. Let's call things as they really are and not the politically correct way. May common sense become common again!

Lost liberty and ungratefulness

Warning: Post related to writer's spiritual interpretation based on Christianity. If you are adverse to Christianity, you may want to skip the read today, thanks.

Have you ever wondered why we lost our freedoms? Where this great experiment called America went wrong? It is not surprising that we are no longer a free and sovereign people, you know. There are two ways of looking at the issue, and today I want to explore the spiritual one.

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

When a group of people get blessed, they tend to become lazy and selfish. It goes back 1000's of years. It was even predicted by God Himself when He warned His people of the danger of becoming ungrateful. Being ungrateful leads to prideful thoughts and prideful thoughts lead to thinking you are self-made and the blessings you have are directly related to your own doing. Your own strength, your own mental acuity, and/or your own talent was what got you blessed and if your think this way, it follows that your blessing(s) is not linked to the Almighty, your relationship to Him and His mercy.

Deuteronomy 8:13,14,17,19 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied.. Then thine heart be lifted up and thou forget the Lord thy God which brought three forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;...And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth....and it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

On the one hand, we can see many areas that we lost our way in, such as allowing certain amendments to the Constitution. But on the other hand, we also lost our way on our spiritual path. Of the first people to sail across the ocean seeking freedom, many had come out of spiritual bondage, being told how they must worship. (Yes, I know the arguments concerning the native Americans and such, but this post does not deal with the injustice they had to bear.) Here in the New World, they were able to pursue God as they saw fit in their our conscience and not as one church or the “State” dictated. Do you think they were grateful?

As the new states were formed, you can see our heritage of honoring God in each state's constitution. Even our federal Constitution relies on the Jewish and Christian traditions of truth and morality and gave honor to God. Prayer was common and still to this day, many governing bodies open with it, albeit to the chagrin on the atheists.

Those that fought the battle for freedom from England called upon God to help them. It took great courage and a granite resolve that they were doing the moral and right thing before God and all of mankind to rebel, and to give their lives in the fight against the tyranny that held them in bondage. And they made certain that they addressed the issues according to the moral and proper procedure, thus keeping a clear conscience before God and man. It was only when King George would not acknowledge their petitions, and the injustice they suffered became intolerable that they understood there was no peaceful options left and began the rebellion. (And in order to again fight this battle today, we will need to understand that we are morally called upon to fight tyranny; that it is our duty before God. But will we come to understand this when most preachers have been indoctrinated into believing that rebellion against the state is rebellion against God? When so many scholars of the Word of God cannot rightly divide it?

Over the years, we as a people were blessed and we grew fat and selfish, not to be confused with self-sufficient, but full of ourselves and we were not vigilant to give thanks to God and diligent to teach our children about Him and the true reasons this nation came to be. We grew lazy and forgot that we needed the Lord and His blessing upon our work, upon our sovereign states. We lost our grateful attitudes and our diligence. We stopped seeking Him and stopped trying to please Him in all our ways.

We, the common people, allowed ourselves to be brainwashed into thinking the “experts” had the answers and we did not have the capacity to understand the way of the world, to teach our own children, to run for office, or even to understand the issues we face. We allowed our history to be re-written and we allowed our children to be taught by others, by those with an agenda. We allowed our children to be indoctrinated into this mentality of thinking that only a few gifted people are capable of understanding the Constitution and the way the world works. Even Naomi Wolf, who is well-educated and now is the author of The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot, says she felt separated from the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. To her credit she acknowledges that she had to ask a lawyer friend to explain due process to her. She relates that we are told not to worry about liberty, that we have a special class of people who will take care of that for us. (Please view Naomi relate this and other things you may need to hear at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjALf12PAWc) And so in our ungrateful, selfish and lazy state, we have let them – the self-proclaimed experts, take care of our liberties. And we are now enslaved.

Those who were power hungry devised ways to get more power for themselves and they were diligent and they were successful. Our representative republic was slowly dissolved before our very eyes without our notice, for we did not understand what we were losing. It took time, many years in fact, but now we are very close to the end of even the illusion that we are free as the ptb are running faster than ever before to ensure their absolute control over we the people. How long will it be before we are not able to post thoughts such as these? How long will it be before you will not have the right to choose what you put into your body? (Even now there are mandates being debated to force you to take the H1N1 vaccination.)

I propose the first step into the slow slide of liberty lost began with our becoming lax in our giving of thanks to the Lord, of not being diligent to remember His ways, His works, and His word, to hide them first in our own hearts and then to be diligent to speak of them to our children “when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of they house and on thy gates. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9) That scripture gives us the clear picture that we must be constantly reminded of God, His blessings and His ways, that we must be determined to walk in them, and not be slack at any point in our day.

The second step was forgetting the price that was paid for our freedoms and being thankful for the men and women who sacrificed their lives and fortunes, who pledged their sacred honor to the cause of liberty. As it is often said, if we do not learn from history we are bound to repeat it. We have a great need to learn from our own history, and we cannot depend on others to teach it to our children when we are not aware of exactly what is taught when we are not present. It is a short list of who God looks to where children are concerned and it is not a village! Parents are the ones who answer to God for their children.

So where do we start today? We start by being grateful for the few liberties we we still have available to us and if we are truly grateful, we will use these liberties to the fullest. We will use the free press - the internet, and our right to freely assemble. We will use any platform God gives us. We will use everything we have to our advantage to restore our liberties and when we have exhausted those, men and women of honor will again rise up and will do what must be done.

Freedom, Frogs and Goons and I feel the preach coming on...

My friend Mayberry has a good rant on his blog http://mayberry-keepitsimplestupid.blogspot.com/ It is from yesterday, titled "Equal Opportunity Offender" and a good read, altho he does like to use "colorful" language. I for one appreciate his switch to a few well placed # and * though! I can understand the sentiment behind the word choices...pure frustration and burning anger. Many of us are there also.

I think it would be a good thing for many of our troops and law enforcement officers to be introduced to Oathkeepers as well. See http://oathkeepers.org/oath/ and check out the 10 orders they will not obey. Then maybe you could print some out and hand out to those you know in those occupations. You might get some good, stimulating conversations going.

We must get this through our heads: there are more of us than there are of them. We have just needed to have the sheeple wake up ... and now they are. Our numbers are increasing every day as more sheeple wake up. And I think the NWOgoons are scared because they are waking up and the goons know that is not good for them. I say PRAISE GOD!

So as I see it, we are in a precarius state. The plan to disarm us, to bring down the US of A, to implement a new currency, i.e. Euro like, has had to be changed. They don't dare waste any precious time. They have had to move up their timeline so that they can still accomplish their goal of total dominance. Because with every day that passes, more people are standing up and looking around and asking where their freedoms went. More people are buying guns and ammo. More people are stock piling food. More people are forming supportive groups. More people are realizing that they were duped by obamanation.

But with their speeding up of the timeline, it becomes even more apparent what they are doing. The water is heating up a little too fast and even more frogs are jumping out of the water. So the race is on. Who will win, the goons or us?

I know that I don't have much personally in common with some who seek freedom, but if you aint a goon, and you are against the goons, then you are on my side and I am on yours.

We have some good discussions going on here in our old Ron Paul group about whether we should all join the GOP as their numbers are down significantly and we could really make some changes. Sounds good to me; I say fight on every front. There are others who say it won't matter if the goons are controlling the voting machines; that surely makes sense. So if that seems the top priority to you, fight on that front. Meself thinks one of the most important fights is for real money, hard silver and gold that don't loose value so you are rewarded for being frugal and saving. Real property exchanges that can't be taxed into oblivion. And my other beef is the property tax. If you can't own property free and clear, you are not free, period, end of story.

There are other ways to fight and some are not pretty, fight still. Some ways to fight use deception, fight on. Some who fight are in the front lines and everyone knows their name, others are hidden behind enemy lines causing the enemies' plans to go haywire. But all are fighting.

Just know what it is you are fighting for...freedom. Freedom is self evident. It is your God-given right, not the .gov's proclamation.

This present government does not have my consent any longer.

ie our Constitution states: governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed and it states: whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Well I aint happy, are you?

I don't feel too safe either, do you?

Guess it's time for a new government.

So what front are you going to fight on? There are many to choose from, but the important thing is that you know who is with you and that you fight.

And that is what the goons are most afraid of ~ that we realize this is war, and we fight.
