On the lighter side...

You are from Rural Wisconsin If....
Dressing in layers is not a fashion statement.
You know it’s traditional for the bride and groom to go bar hopping between the ceremony and the reception.
You actually know how to polka.
You know what knee-high by the Fourth of July means.
You were delighted to get a miniature snow shovel for your 3rd birthday.
You buy Christmas presents at Fleet Farm.
You spent more on beer than you did on food at your wedding.
You get your supply of milk from a tank.
You hear someone use the word 'uffda' and you do not immediately break into uncontrollable laughter.
You think fast food is hitting a deer at 65 mph.
You or someone you know was a 'Dairy Princess' at a county fair.
You let your older siblings talk you into putting your tongue on a steel post in the middle of winter.
You think Lutheran and Catholic are THE major religions.
Football, Deer Hunting & Opening Fishing schedules are checked before wedding dates are set.
:)

Got this emailed to me and I thought it was really cute:
For 2010:
May peace break into your home and may thieves come to steal your debts
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Cotton Candy and may laughter assault your lips!
May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy
May the problems you had forget your home address!
Happy 2010!

God loves a cheerful giver, and I don't think He just meant money. If you can give out to others from your heart with joy, it can be contagious. Just think how hard it is not to laugh when you find yourself in the middle if a group of people who are in stitches with laughter!

Perhaps you can share a positive light on prepping with someone. Just knowing your family is prepared for the next winter storm, power outage, or other challenge is a reason to rejoice. If you are excited about being a prepper, you can easily get others excited too. We don't have to be thought of as the “doom and gloom” people. Rain falls into every life, but when you have a rain coat, umbrella, slickers and a shelter in which to weather the storm, you have something to be grateful for.
Smile at people today, even if they look grumpy; if nothing else they will wonder what you've been up to!

Attitudes can be contagious; here's hoping we all start some cheerfulness today.

When we first moved here to WI, I often thought they sounded sooo much like Canadians (you know those people who live in Canadia...hehehe.)
You two sure help me keep smiling when you come and post a thought...so encourages me.
