In the news and always praying

Do you have means of protection in your preps? I hope you at least have the basics.

I will open with this link: http://www.examiner.com/x-5619-Atlanta-Gun-Rights-Examiner~y2009m12d31-Court-upholds-police-pointing-gun-at-lawful-carriers

Unbelievable. And here in the lovely state of Wisconsin we can't “lawfully” conceal carry, and with rulings like this, no one will be able to. I often wonder if I should move to a more 2nd amendment loving state. I seriously ponder this. On one hand, after the coming crash, I don't think anyone will be without protection, no matter the law on the books. But we don't know how long until that point and how slow the process might be, thus making a progun state a much more appealing place to live. But to just up and move to a state where at present we have no employment is a daunting task and perhaps this is where we are supposed to be... Not too many folks will be heading to the cold north woods when food gets scarce and you have to grow your own, so we will not be inundated with the thundering herd. People here are used to working hard and still have a sense of morality for the most part. I am open to moving, seeing as we don't have a mortgage right now, it would be easier than just a few months ago. But I (we) would really need to know that it was God's will to have the wherewithal to actually do such a thing. We are no longer 20 or 30 somethings.

Which brings me to my other thought today on not giving up. Have you ever been going along in your life, things may not be perfect, but they are ok and then you get hit up side the faith with something you just don't want to even think about? Something you just want to run from, or block out from your consciousness, or perhaps it is so bad, you just want to give up... I have, and it is not fun, but God is faithful, and for that I am grateful. He does not leave us off on our own, He is still there, even if it doesn't feel like it and He softens our heart once again and draws us to Himself. I know this from experience. And having those experiences has cause my faith in His goodness to grow.

Today, I am having to fight another spiritual battle. I was given a verse from my morning devotions that helped me to know God is with me on this and the victory will be won. But it is still something that must be walked out. Step by step. I also feel the Holy Spirit recalled to my mind Luke 18:1 that tells us we are always to pray (or fight the good fight) and not to give up, not to lose heart and not to lose our earnestness in seeking God for the answer. We are to always trust His promises.

So I encourage you today to go to the Word and find yourself one of the many wonderful, amazing promises He has given us and hold onto it with all that you have within you. Rightly divide the Word and partake today. It is life-giving. Sustaining. Good.

God be with you,
HUP
