Prov. 6:6-15 (KJV): "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a forward mouth. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Forwardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy."
The lessons from scripture are clear: Don't be lazy and lax. Store up in good times for future lean times. Consider this: "[There is] treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up." - Prov. 21:20 (KJV)

James Wesley does a great job in this post of telling it like it is, so why should I reinvent the wheel. I hope you will take the time to rea the post and check out his blog. He has been predicting the economic downturn for over 10 years.
Happy Preppin'

That's good to use scripture to point out things relevant of today. And things of today to point back to prophesies of scripture. That's the best way I can think of to win over an atheist. If they can't see the fulfilling of prophesy, then I don't know what else to say to them
Nope- don't reinvent the wheel, HUP, but please do add your take to it. JWR's is a great site, but he does tend to 'cater' to a more 'elite' type of prepper.
Let us know how you're doing what you are, especially in our cold clime. You'll have a personal view he can't touch.
And Jesus IS the Reason for the Season. My view of prepping is Scripturally based as well- and all the prophecies are pointing to it happening soon.

Good Post

thanks for the feedback, it's so nice see someone has responded!
I think we need to know why we are doing what we are doing so when it gets difficult we have a firm foundation to stand on. And that is why I liked this particular post from JWR with the scriptural references. I would have commented more, but I was really tired. Thanks for your vote of confidence, Shy Wolf, and will do!
Amen!
I'm wondering, I haven't had time to do any research for myself, but what Good resources do Christians have for survivalist information? I mean, I know about SurvivalBlog.com and I know how well the Mormons are at Prepping, But what about other denominations, what resources and info do they have? What about in Wisconsin? What are the churches there doing to prepare? If you could, provide us some links on your site. I'm Non-denominational myself and not a member of a church, so other than the ultimate survival guide "The Bible" what other christian resources can help me Thank you.
Tom
Most churches I have been around to or spoken with people that go to others, not many preachers are speaking about this matter at all. It all seems to be "purpose driven" happy feet churchin' and feeling all goody-goody about oneself! They are not preparing their flocks at all, and I kinds (LOL) told one preacher that he would not be raptured and if he did not do some research and them spread the word to his flock - they will all go thru very hard times without preps! He thought I was crazy to prep - ya know because we will all be raptured before it gets too bad!! Uh huh, right. Are we so special that we deserve not to suffer at all? Didn't think so and why would most of the bible be prophecy if we weren't to go thru this? Great post! It is up to us to spread the word as best we can - YAWEH has put this burden on each and everyone of us - this is why we are doing the prepper network!!
God Bless and Prep On

Texe Mars has some good stuff too!
I agree, I don't understand why all these churches are pushing the pre-tribulation rapture stuff. Even if that is true, who's to say that we are immune to major disasters and economic collapse. Go to any church in a third world country, where Christians are far more faithful than we, and start talking about rapture, they will laugh you out of the church!
American prepper: I do not know of any organized Christian prepping group that I can recommend. I know there is a remnant the “get it” and those who really listen to the Lord have a sense that they should prepare, but then when they hear it preached that God will take of them come what may, don’t worry, be happy, or they will not have to suffer any judgment, they do not follow through.
Ernie: I told a pastor a few years ago that the church should forget the beautiful building they were planning that would sit empty most of the week, making it a monument to XXX church, and think about building a center to educate and house people. What I really felt led to say was God would rather see built a warehouse and start storing food etc. to help in the next disaster. They ending up having a split and were not able to build at all. I think it is sad to see all this money spent on beautiful buildings that are hardly used – they use them a few hours a week . Geesh. You will reap what you have sown, and the problem is we haven’t sown at all. No sewing, no harvest. No prepping, no provision.
I know God has been speaking to people for literally years to prepare to survive outside the infrastructure we live in. I know some have prepared. Usually it is those who seek to live simply and have no TV. Hmm, maybe they have time to listen to God? Maybe their channel is tuned to heaven’s channel instead of CNN?
Thanks to y’all for your contribution. Preppers are a great bunch alright.
